Good Morning friends and happy Tuesday to you! This Tuesday I’m going for a Treat Yourself Tuesday Stitch Fix Style!
What is Stitch Fix?
When you sign up for Stitch Fix you get your very own stylist that handpicks a “Fix” for you with five clothing items and/or accessories that are unique to your taste, budget and lifestyle. To pick out these items she/he looks at an extensive profile you filled out to make sure your unique tastes, sizes and wants are taken into account. They also look at things like a Pintrest board if you show them where to find it so you can pin things you like. You have 3 days to decide if you are going to keep any of the items in your Fix that was mailed for free right to your door. You can buy whatever you like (or nothing) and return the rest, free of charge in their postage paid envelope.
Each fix comes with style cards and a personal note from your stylist on why she/he choose certain items for you. There is a $20 styling fee, but if you purchase any of the items in your Fix, it’s credited back to you. You can also leave notes on specific fixes, so if you want a fix for your vacation coming up you can leave that note for your stylist and she/he will include pieces to accommodate your needs. I’ve gotten the most compliments on items that I have gotten from this service.
You can sign up for a fix here and get a one time fix or sign up for how ever many you want. As a disclaimer I was cleaning and threw away the style cards so I have no clue the names of any of these things!
So this is the third time I have gotten skinny jeans and each time they make me look like I have sausage legs. So ugly! Skinny jeans just don’t look good on me right now with all the curves I have going on. These ones didn’t even button so I decided not to take a picture, you’re welcome. I think I need to update my profile just a little. Speaking of jeans though, I totally need a new pair and I think I’m going to go a little higher waited than the low rise I’ve been rocking. Yep, bring on the mom jeans.
Verdict. Sent back.
Chevron Print Dress
I took this dress out and it was like love at first touch. It was almost the same material I think sweat pants are made of. It was heavy too like a thick sweat pant so it wouldn’t make me freeze in these awesome temperatures we are having in Boston. It fit so nicely, going in a little at the waist and then flaring out and coming down to my knees. Length is a huge issue with me, I don’t like to look like I’m trying to fit in with the college girls anymore.
I love how you can pair this with a cardigan or a chunky necklace and some flats or dress it up with some high heels. This dress and I fit well together!
Diamond Print Sleeveless Shirt
I had asked for a sleeveless shirt that I saw on a previous style card, it was bright blue and had a great print with purples and light blue and yellow on it. They didn’t have it anymore but she said she sent me something similar. This wasn’t very similar at all. The print was a little old ladyish and the cut was weird.
It had an elastic bottom that I couldn’t fit correctly in the jeans, over the bum or above or in the middle? I liked the v neck but the boyfriend said it was a little revealing so that means I wouldn’t be able to wear it to work. If it can’t double as a work shirt it can’t be in my closet right now.
Verdict. Sent Back.
I thought I was going to love this as I love the blue one they sent last time. But when I put it on the pockets it had just didn’t flow right. I like them a little more forward laying on the body and this one lays in the middle of my hips. I use to have one like this and I spent the whole time pulling it forward to cover myself. It needs to keep me a tad warm as well as look good. I debated for a little bit but knew in the end I just wouldn’t wear it as much as I should if I’m going to buy it.
Verdict. Sent Back.
Best Stripe Shirt in the World
So in my letter the stylist sent me she mentioned “I see you like stripes” yes, yes I do. So she said “I think you will like this strip shirt” and yes, yes I do. I put it on and fell in love. It is so so so soft and falls at the perfect length, right below the belt line. The back is even a tad longer. I love how the arms have a different stripe than the body of the shirt as well and don’t even get me started on the awesome orange neck line.
This is probably one of my favorite things that has come out of Stitch Fix, I’ve already worn it twice.
I am holding off on getting another fix until April, I have enough winter clothes right now and I need to buy a pair or jeans by myself since these just aren’t fitting me right. I’m happy to have added this shirt and this dress into my closet though!
Have you ever been fixed before?
