Good morning friends and happy Friday eve to you! I don’t know about you but I cannot wait for this weekend to get here, I’m beyond tired right now! Although I may be so beat, that doesn’t stop me from dragging my behind up every morning to get to the hotel gym. So this week I bring you my hotel workouts.
The gym at my hotel actually isn’t that bad for a hotel gym.
Day 1 I did a body pump workout and was the only one in there the whole time. Day two I jumped on an elliptical for a quick 10 minute warm up and then did a tabata workout which I hope to bring to you next week. Then this morning I did these two workouts from PBFingers.com
Julie, the author of PBFingers.com is a trainer and a group class instructor and her workouts always make me SWEAT! I’ve done that elliptical workout before but that upper body workout was new to me and by the end I could hardly finish my last set of chest presses. The gym only has weights in increments on 5 so I was doing a lot of 10lb dumbbells which is a step up from where I normally lift.
There are tons of other workouts that can be done while traveling though. One of my favorites is the deck of cards workout where you assign an exercise (sit ups, jumping jacks, lunges etc) to a suit and then shuffle the deck. What ever the number is, face cards worth 10 and aces worth 15, that’s how many of the certain exercise you do. The deck can just be thrown into your bag and takes up no room at all.
If you are in a safe area running or power walking is also a great way to get exercise and see the city. My favorite moments in Montreal were some of the morning runs I took before the city started to wake up.
I’m really proud of the fact that the past 4 mornings I’ve dragged my tired fanny out of bed and got to the gym, I know it is making my body feel a lot better on this beer and heavy food week of training.
