What is Stitch Fix?

When you sign up for Stitch Fix  you get your very own stylist that handpicks a “Fix” for you with five clothing items and/or accessories that are unique to your taste, budget and lifestyle. To pick out these items she/he looks at an extensive profile you filled out to make sure your unique tastes, sizes and wants are taken into account. They also look at things like a Pintrest board if you show them where to find it so you can pin things you like. You have 3 days to decide if you are going to keep any of the items in your Fix that was mailed for free right to your door. You can buy whatever you like (or nothing) and return the rest, free of charge in their postage paid envelope.

Each fix comes with style cards and a personal note from your stylist on why she/he choose certain items for you.

There is a $20 styling fee, but if you purchase any of the items in your Fix, it’s credited back to you. You can also leave notes on specific fixes, so if you want a fix for your vacation coming up you can leave that note for your stylist and she/he will include pieces to accommodate your needs. I’ve gotten the most compliments on items that I have gotten from this service.

You can sign up for a fix here and get a one time fix or sign up for how ever many you want.

Jaclynn 3/4 Sleeve Button-Up Cardigan

I loved the deep blue of the cardigan and the way that when I buttoned it up it laid flat. Most cardigans I have the don’t button up flat because of my larger chest so to find one that did was really nice. I loved the feel and loved the material and loved the color. The only problem is when I want to wear a blue cardigan I’m 100% going to be wearing this one from my October fix.

If this was red or green or some other color it would have been in my closet in a second!

Verdict. Sent back.

Memphis Lace Overlay Knit Shirt

I took this shirt out and fell in love. It is a t shirt that can be worn with jeans or shorts but dressed up as well with some black pants for work. It is so pretty and so it was so soft. I am a sucker for heather gray items too, as half of my shirt selection use to be gray. The length was perfect and the fit was wonderful as well.

The only problem was the price. It was $58 for a t shirt. I’m not a cheap person at all, but I felt like this was just a little too much for me to spend on a t shirt. perhaps a long sleeve shirt or sweater but I just couldn’t for a t shirt sadly.

Verdict. Sent Back.

Ashland Chevron Print Dress

A very pretty dress, I liked it but I didn’t love it. I was reading another blog recently and the blogger said if items aren’t a 10 she doesn’t buy them anymore. That way she might not have as many pieces of clothing but she loves everything that is in her closest. Such a good idea and one that I’m going to adopt myself.

I liked the dress, it looked nice on me, it would be perfect for the fall and for the winter but I wasn’t in love with the dress. It has a weird plastic band that went around the rib cage that I can picture myself pulling at and the cut just wasn’t 100% my style.

Pre rule that all items had to be a 10 this would have found its way into my closet.

Verdict. Sent Back.

Hobbes Striped Crew Neck Sweater

As soon as I saw this I knew it was a winner. I love the pop of orange and i love how it is tailored so it doesn’t flare out at the bottom. I paired this with some jeans and a scarf and loved the way it kept me warm and looked fantastic (if I do say so myself) I wore it to work yesterday and got so many compliments on it as well which is always a bonus.

The sweater itself is not too heavy so you aren’t dying of heat while you wear it but it still has enough room to fit a tank underneath which I love because I don’t like my back showing if my jeans slip down a little bit.

Verdict. Kept.

Aberdine Ankle Length Straight Leg Jean

Why no picture on me? Well because they guys didn’t button and that isn’t something I’m going to show you guys! I couldn’t believe they actually fit all the way up though as I always thought skinny jeans weren’t for me. They zipped half way but in the end the button was almost impossible to close and there is no way I’m going to wriggle like a worm every morning to get my clothes on. It was a nice try but this booty needs to drop a few more pounds before those are a reality.

Verdict. Sent Back.

This is the second fix that Ashley has styled for me and she just seems to get what I like and things that would look good on me. Two things I sent back that I really liked, one for the color and one for the price. I’m probably going to regret sending back the t shirt but in the end I’m glad I did.

Have you ever been fixed before?
