Weekend Recap

Weekend Recap

Oh my what a wonderful long weekend! It was full of great food, tons of outdoors time and lots of quality time with the boyfriend. These long weekends always bring us even closer as a couple and make me realize how perfect he is for me. The weekend started off late Wednesday night when we got home from work and headed up to his families place in NH. We didn’t get in until almost 2 in the morning and went to bed quickly after but that didn’t keep us in bed the next morning! I woke up and made waffles for the boyfriend and I then headed out for a run. photo 11

Around the condo they have a 2.5 mile loop that is very hilly but so beautiful. I ran it three times while I was there. I think I would run it almost daily if I could. After I got back still dripping in sweat I quickly toweled off and headed out to mountain bike with the boyfriend. We drove up to a snowmobile trail and then headed out into the woods.

We went into the woods for about an hour, passing over streams and by marshes with hundreds of dragon flies. The whole time we didn’t see a single person, it was perfect. After we headed back both starving and went to grab a late lunch. Then without showering we headed into town to try and find me a long sleeve bathing suit top. No luck as most of the stores had turned their inventory over to fall and back to school. Shopping smelling is not the way to go, about an hour into it all I wanted to do was go home and clean off, so we did that and then headed out awhile later to dinner. Since we both had worn ourselves out we headed home for an early night. The next morning we got up and headed out for a hike.

We were originally only going to do four miles to a waterfall, but then the boyfriend got aggressive and we headed out to the outlook area another two miles away. A mile into it he got starving though so we decided to turn back and look at the falls.

We did get a good glimpse through the trees though of how beautiful the outlook would have been. All is well though because the falls made up for it!

They were so beautiful! We hung out for a little bit cooling off in the mist and then headed home to meet up with the rest of the family. The next day I don’t have any pictures of but we headed down the river in kayaks for about five miles. It was a slow paddle so we went into the river around 11 in the morning and didn’t come out until almost 5:30. I was so impressed with the my sun clothing, I didn’t get a single burn or even tan line the whole time I was out there! I was really worried but the stuff works.

Sadly our trip to NH ended but I had one more day of freedom before work so I went with my dad to the Deutsche Bank Tournament on Monday. It was HOT. Dripping sweat, sitting in the shade under trees, drinking copious amounts of water and not wanting to see the winners hot.

Golfer hit the ball into the crowd where we were so we got to watch him hit for about ten feet away.

I loved spending the day with my dad though so it was so worth it. The perfect way to close out the perfect long weekend. I needed this vacation so much!

  1. oh my goodness girl, this is SO beautiful!! I live in LA, so views like this are few and far between. For a nature freak like myself, I need to drive at least 2 hours to get even close to nature. I do however, have instant beach access in like, 5 minutes 🙂

    1. I love the beach! This was a 2.5 hour drive away for me so don’t be too jealous, I can’t wait to live in a place like this one day though. Does my heart good.
