Man, I feel like it has been years since I have done one of these. So instead of wasting time, let’s get right to what I was up to this weekend! My weekend actually started early thanks (I guess that’s the correct word) to a doctors appointment. It went well and by 1:00 I was heading through Boston on my way home. I relaxed for an hour and then I laced up my running shoes and decided to go for a walk. I didn’t want to overdue it, so I grabbed my iphone to listen to a pod cast and headed out. I met up with this little guy along the way.
I got home and the boyfriend was home dying to finally play tennis with me again. So we headed out, but sadly all the courts were taken. He didn’t feel like waiting so we headed home to shower and go out for a dinner. I wanted to go to The Salty Pig, which is a restaurant know for their cheese boards and diverse selection in beer and wine. We walked in and got sat almost instantly, where we ordered a huge board of charcuterie.
Sorry, the lighting was horrible, but it had a soft strong cheese, a mild hard cheese, some sliced meat, olives, Vermont honey, bread and butter pickles, dijon mustard and some delicious crostini. We then split a small pizza for dinner since we had filled up on the cheese board.
Saturday I got up semi early and went for my first run since diagnosis. It was a little brutal but it felt so good to get out and be able to do it again. Plus it was absolutely beautiful.
After was a quick shower and then we headed out to look at apartments for the day. It was a LONG day, but we saw four different complexes and both agreed on one if we decide we are going to move into a complex. Now we just have to look at different apartments in houses to see if we really want to do that and then we should be good. I felt good about the progress we made, but a little sad it took the whole day. We headed home to eat a quick dinner of leftovers and then headed out to meet up with his friends and my friends Krisha and Dave who got engaged here. I haven’t seen her in forever and while we were hanging out she gave me a present. I was sort of confused but never question why people give me presents, when I opened it there was a bottle of champagne that said “will you be my bridesmaid” I almost screamed! So excited and of course I would. We then spent the rest of the evening in Marina Bay.
The next morning we slept in because we were out so late, but when I finally got up and moving I headed off into the city to get some new running shoes. I had just bought some Nike ones but they weren’t working for me at all, so I decided to get good ones from the Marathon Sports Store. It is a fantastic place where they analyze your stance your feet and your stride and then bring you shoes based off your unique qualifications. I tried on a ton and will show you what I bought tomorrow. Look at all the fun colors!
I also really enjoyed this bench.
Then I walked over to WHOs house to see her and baby Quin for a few hours and was lucky enough to cross paths with our friend Liz too! I knew the boyfriend was waiting for me at home though so I swung by Target and the food store quickly and headed home with dinner ingredients.
We were able to get out and play tennis quickly before dinner but about ten minutes into the game were bombarded by four young boys who wanted to try and talk with us. We didn’t have the heart to say no so we gave up our rackets and let them play for a little while. We didn’t get home until after 8 so dinner was late and it was almost right to bed.
I’m so grateful for a normal weekend finally and even more excited for a short Fourth of July week! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend too!
