Stitch Fix

Good morning! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Tuesday, and speaking of wonderful Tuesday it is the best blog post of the week (in my opinion!) a Treat Yourself Tuesday post. Like always I’m linking up with Becky over at Olives N’ Wine to bring you my week of treats.

There is no better feeling than getting mail. I am so old fashion and still send letters all the time. I think it is a lost art, that people normally just bypass with a quick text or email. So the fact that Stitch Fix every month sends me a package is beyond exciting. This month was so exciting because the box was a lot bigger than it was last time, I couldn’t wait to bring it home and dive in.

For those of you who don’t know what Stitch Fix is, let me make your world a better place. Every month for $20 a stylist picks out 5 items for you and sends them to you along with style cards on how you can pair each item. These items are selected based off a whole profile you fill out on what your style is and what you are looking for. Then you have three days to try on the items and see if you like them or not, you can try them on with your own clothing and you can try them on in the comfort of your own home. Then you simply put what you don’t want back in an envelop they provided to you and stick it in the mail. So easy!

Whatever you do choose to purchase you get to use the $20 they charged your for the fix towards your purchases. So if the shirt costs $40 you would only pay an additional $20 if you decide to keep it. If you choose to keep all 5 items they sent you then you get an additional 25% off. My stylist must have listen to me when I made comments on my last returns because all the items they sent were totally in my wheelhouse.

First out of the box was skinny jeans. I have never owned skinny jeans, I have always thought that I would look like a sausage stuffed in the casing, but I wanted to give it a shot anyway. Well, I didn’t get to figure it out because although I could put them on, buttoning them wasn’t happening. I am an hourglass figure and these hips sure don’t lie!

Up next was a dress, I liked it but I didn’t love it. Plus with my shape those stripes just didn’t flatter me the way they could have. It was slightly more expensive then I normally go for when buying dresses too so that one went back.

I really liked this top, besides the fact it was just a little too tight in the stomach area. Some days I wear jeans that are just a tad snug and don’t want any sort of rolls or handle s showing. The material was also a little weird, sort of a mixture between spandex and silk. Again this went back.

Not pictured was black leggings. I obviously loved them, but they sadly were too long on me. I have tiny little legs and normally buy capris to wear as leggings. There was a good two inches just bunched at the bottom.

Lastly this shirt. Love at first sight and touch. It is so soft and it has the olive color from my last Stitch Fix keep that I adore. I was so happy I had one winner in the box and now a new stripe shirt (who is shocked it has stripes on it?!)

I can’t wait for my next fix in June!

Have you ever done Stitch Fix? If so what is your favorite item?

  1. I agree, there is no better feeling than getting mail! Well, as long as they are not bills 😉 I would love so bad to subscribe to Stitch Fix but, unfortunately, they don’t deliver to Canada 😦 Even though you weren’t too crazy about the stripe dress, I think it looks super cute on you!

    1. Thanks Julie! I agree, I hate getting bills too! (who doesn’t) such a bummer that they don’t go to Canada, maybe a business opportunity for you though!

  2. I haven’t gotten a StitchFix package, but this is my second post to read about StitchFix. Looks like your package was fun to try on. Also – I was excited to read that you still send letters – I’ve also enjoyed sending an old fashioned letter, even if I don’t get many back; there’s something fun knowing that a friend got a handwritten letter from me in their mailbox.

    1. I’m the same way!! Just this past Mother’s Day I sent out over 6 cards to the mothers I know. I really think writing it is a lost art, which is why I love blogging, at least I’ve recorded it somewhere, if not a journal or something.

  3. CUTE dress! But the shoes you paired with it make it even cuter. Love. And the green shirt with the stripes – I hope you kept that. very flattering, even though “baggy” so to speak. Can I borrow that? 🙂
