Advocare 24 Day Cleanse – Day 1

Last time I did the Advocare 24 Day cleanse I recapped each week with my eats and what I was feeling. This time I signed up two girls to do it with me and I feel a little obligated to give more detail on what I’m going through. I know last time a few things happened that I wanted to know if they were normal or not but didn’t feel comfortable asking a large group, so hopefully this will also help them.

I woke up at 9:30 after a long anniversary night with the boyfriend and was filled with dread. I was hungry yet I didn’t want to eat clean, I wanted pounds of cheese and bread and I definitely didn’t want to drink that horrible fiber drink. I had my motivation in my head though (easily fitting into all the jeans I have instead of doing the “dance” to get them on) Walking into the kitchen I almost grimaced, but knew I only had to stomach this drink 6 times, totally doable. Here is a rundown of what I have to eat and take on Day One, the things in blue are completely optional:

Spark and Catalyst. I choose my favorite grape spark and downed the three catalyst no problem. Ok no so bad, I love the spark and cannot wait to get some more pink lemonade ones. Still dreading what’s next.

Fiber Drink, Protein, Complex Carb, Fruit – Poured the Fiber drink into my blender bottle, added a little mango strawberry spark to hopefully get the flavor a little better and then chugged. Still awful but I did it. I didn’t let the boyfriend near me when he came over to give me a hug, too worried I would hurl.Then I made some couscous and topped it with two runny eggs and some truffle oil. Mmmm much better, still wanted cheese but this was alright I guess.

Spark and Catalyst. – Knowing I took two days to rest I pulled my bigger than I would like bottom into my workout clothes and went to the gym to complete day one of my Nike Training Club. An hour before the workout I took two O2 Golds washing them down with the other part of my grape spark. I think the full packet is way too strong so I always just mix half a packet.

Protein, Vegetable and Complex Carb – Walking out of Target I swear I smelled grill cheese, mmm cheese, so I went home in a little bit of a funk just wanting to eat cheese. I instead threw some water on to boil and made some soy noodles and threw them in a little olive oil, grilled chicken, fire roasted tomatoes, garlic and basil. Ok so this isn’t so bad, I would go as far as to say I actually enjoyed it. I have learned always have grilled chicken made in the fridge and tons of eggs on hand. Great source of lean protein quickly. Set myself up for success!

Snack – Sesame crackers with some PB and banana slices. Oh my heaven this was amazing. The crackers and the peanut butter are really salty and the banana is really sweet, making this a winning combination. I inhaled my snack and was happy.

Protein, vegetable, Complex Carb – Sushi with no soy sauce and a side of a few scallops. Yum in my tum! Ok so I guess this isn’t so bad.

Dinner Snack – I was too full to eat a dinner snack.

Herbal Cleanse Tablet & Cataylst – With a full glass of water before bed time.

Thoughts throughout the day – Oh no the fiber drink. Holy cow, I gained that much weight!, No thermo plus for ten days, total lame sauce. Man I want some cheese.
Feelings – Mainly tired, also a little dread of not being able to complete this, even though I’ve done it before.
Cravings – Cheese, cheese and some more freaking cheese.
Abnormal body functions – Due to my experience last time I’m already thinking I’ll not go number 2 for a few days. Really gassy though, but that could be from all the junk I ate yesterday.
