Weekend Recap

Weekend Recap

Ugh I cannot believe it is Monday already. I passed out last night in the middle of the Oscars 100% beat from the weekend. I’m going to have to catch up on my sleep this week if I want to be functional. Why am I so beat you ask, well this weekend was jam packed with outdoor stuff that kept me going from Saturday morning until Sunday night.
Saturday I got up around 8:00 and finally out of bed around 8:30 which I guess is just the new norm for me and started some laundry. While that was going I started to pick up the kitchen from the night before and make myself a protein packed breakfast. I had a wax appointment at 1:30 and since I was heading over there I wanted to get in a run while I was there. After the laundry was done I put on my running outfit, parked at one of my gyms and then took off. I knew I would at least get 4 miles in but figured I would let my body tell me when enough was enough. It was a beautiful day and I was so happy to be out of where I live that the miles just flew by and I had to turn around to allow myself enough time to shower. When I looked at my app after I was done I was shocked to see I ran over 7 miles and felt awesome still!

Good thing I ran that distance because that night we had a stay in date night and did a super fun dessert!
A cookie dough taste off!
I made homemade whipped cream and then put sprinkles and cherries out and the boyfriend and I decided which tasted better.
He chose the Ben and Jerry’s and I chose the Haagen-Dazs. It wasn’t an easy choice for me but in the end it came down to the taste of the ice cream that the cookie dough was in. I think the real winner was the one I had the other week though in NH, which was just Breyers! I laughed at the end when he showed me his ice cream. Normally he doesn’t get into desserts like I do so I was pleased he really got into it.
The next morning we were up bright and early and off to VT for the day to ski Killington. Killington is probably my favorite mountain as it has such wide trails and there is just so much to ski. We started off the morning on my favorite trail which is Outer Limits and ended the day skiing in the trees. I normally don’t like to do that, but these were pretty open and the slope wasn’t that bad. I had a blast which I think made the boyfriend excited as he loves tree skiing.
By the time we got home and ordered food I was exhausted, I didn’t even make it through the Oscars before I was out cold. I love skiing and I love winter sports but there is something to be said for the lazy days of summer where you just go and relax at the beach. I could use a solid day of sleep at this point!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
