Weekend Recaps

Weekend Recap

Sorry the weekend update is a day late, but I was so slammed Friday I didn’t get to put my girls night up so priorities! The weekend started off hectic when Friday I was trying to leave early to get home and get the boyfriend to go to a concert for his birthday. He mentioned that he really wanted to go to it about a week before, and I said no because it wasn’t my type of music. Then I realized I had zero clue what I was going to do for his birthday so I thought it would be a perfect thing to  get him as one of his gifts. I finally got home and got the boyfriend and we headed over to South Boston to meet up with Erin and Brian to hit the concert. Turns out we weren’t that late either as there was a lot of just chatting while semi listening to the opening acts. We got dinner which was shockingly really good, Brian and I got burgers while Erin and the boyfriend both got chicken.

We then headed to our seats for a few hours of music. I didn’t really like the music and it all sounded the same to me, but I loved spending time with Erin so the night flew by.

After the concert we went up for another drink in their apartment since they live across the street from the venue and I saw probably the largest zucchini I’ve ever seen in my life that came from her moms garden.

Yes, that’s a full size wine bottle

The next morning I was up before 9:00 and ready to get the day started. That is until the boyfriend brought me Starbucks in bed and I decided that I could watch a show before I really rolled out of bed. When I finally got out he was on the couch dead with a headache so I took that opportunity to go outside and run 5 miles. I was sweating, I was hot and I was tired but at the end I felt fantastic. I then quickly showered and went into the city to get my dress tailored for Erin and Brian’s wedding in almost a month! Then it was back home where the boyfriend and I went out to lunch and did errands. He was so patient going to a few stores and waiting in the car while I ran in. I wanted to finish the basket for Erin so I could deliver it on Sunday though.

I think it came out really well! It is to get her excited for her bachelorette party this weekend. Since it is a beach themed bachelorette party I got her a purple towel, some fun magazines to read on the beach, a purple cocktail glass and some nips to make the cocktail with. I hope she is really getting excited because I know I am!

Later on that night the boyfriend and I went to dinner at a place called Italian Express and both got an alfredo dish. I highly recommend this place as the food was so great, a little tip though, try and split a dish because we both got full meals to take home and eat the next day.

Sunday I woke up and started to clean the apartment. I saw Erin and Brian’s apartment and it inspired me to take better care of mine. I loved that it was so clean and she didn’t have to apologize for the mess when we went up randomly after the concert. I want to carry that over to our apartment as well, so I spent over two hours scrubbing the place clean. After I was really pleased with the way it looked and so was this guy as he moved spot to spot sleeping.

I then reheated the leftovers from last night with some tips from what I found online. In the past I have put the pasta in the microwave and it comes out an oil blob mess. Not appealing at all! So I did some research and found that if you slowly heat it on the stove with some constant stirring and then just a dash of milk to the sauce it becomes a creamy wonder again. I was so excited as now I’m not shoveling food into me the night before fearing I’ll just have to throw it away since it doesn’t reheat well!

After the football game was over I got my buns over to the gym and did this circuit I found on pbfingers.com. It took me 20 minutes to complete and was a good work out. I didn’t really think it busted my legs that much until I woke up on Monday and realized I was sore. It was a quick way to get in and out of the gym though which is exactly what I needed because I wanted to get to Erin’s to drop off her basket and then go shopping for the week.

By the time Sunday night rolled around I had gotten a ton done that weekend and felt great. My favorite feeling was Monday morning when I was up at the crack of dawn to go to the gym and I couldn’t help but admire the way the living room looked so clean.

I hope everyone else had a great weekend!
