Thursday Flashback

Long time no talk! It’s good to be back on, and I hope that the busy time of the year is starting to wind down. It is causing stress between me and coworkers and is starting to filter into my personal life as well which isn’t ok. Luckily I have a date night with my ladies on Tuesday which is LONG overdue where I can decompress a little.

Back to Thursday, where I was feeling a little off. I don’t know if it was because I ate red meat on Wednesday night or if I ate too many rich foods but my stomach just wasn’t doing well. My coworker asked me out to lunch though and since we had been at each other’s throats putting together a PowerPoint I figured it would be a good idea to get away from the office for a little while. We went to this sandwich place, which I’m not going to name because I don’t even want their website to get an once of traffic, where I ordered an Eggplant Parmesan sub. Perhaps one of my favorite sandwiches, yet when it came out and I went to take a bite about a 1/4 a cup of grease just poured out of the bottom. Squeezing the sandwich slightly made more come rushing out. I couldn’t even bring myself to take a full bite and ended up throwing the whole thing away. My coworker thought I should bring it back, but I’m just not that type of person, I can never send anything back. I went back to the office and luckily had a salad in the fridge which I paired with a bagel and cream cheese. Lesson learned, if you have a good lunch already don’t risk it!
That night I wanted to bake something since it had been a long time since I had made anything so I decided to try my hand at angel food cake. The boyfriend had mentioned that it was the only cake he really liked so I looked up a recipe online and made him it. The recipe is here and I followed it to a T. I think I’ll make some changes to it next time though!
For dinner I wanted things grilled, like I’ve said before there is just something about the summer and grilling that I love! So I bought the boyfriend some sausages and then myself some Thin and Trim Buffalo Chicken Sausages, along with some corn. Though the boyfriend refused to even try mine, they were fantastic and I have now eaten the whole package.

I ended the night with a slice of angel food cake and a tab of Butter Pecan ice cream. Oh my lord was it heaven!
Can you return food when it isn’t cooked the way you want?
If I paid a lot for it I can, but if not then I just can’t bring myself to do it.
